Coming from an engineering background Kevin McFadzean set up KM Driver Training in 2003 having had experience working with 2 national driving schools.  Becoming a driving instructor at the age of 24 Kevin has since become one of the leading professional driver trainers in Scotland.
 
In October 2009 Kevin was asked to appear on BBC 1's The One Show, to help show the public the benefits of effective visual scanning and forward planning whilst driving.  The show was watched by 4.6 million viewers.  Kevin was selected for the show because of his extensive qualifications and knowledge of driver training. 

Kevin McFadzean was recently appointed as a Road Safety Ambassador for Brake, which is a road safety charity focussing on reducing road casualties and caring for people bereaved or affected by serious injury in road crashes.  Kevin regulary donates money and volunteers his service to Brake and is a member of Brake's Road Safety Forum.

Kevin is a Grade 5 Approved Driving Instructor and qualifed Fleet Driver Trainer.  Less than 2% of instructors train to be Fleet Driver Trainers.  This type of work (as well as being an advanced driver trainer) has taken him across the UK, namely Aberdeen, Keswick, Newcastle, Durham, Grimsby, Belfast and Bracknel, working in partnership with other driver training organisations, to provide training to company car and HGV drivers.  Kevin also gives classroom presentations to company drivers and in schools.

Since 2006 Kevin has passed 3 advanced driving qualifications including I.A.M, RoSPA & DIAmond Advanced and thus become a  registered Institute of Advanced Motorists Instructor and RoSPA Trainer.  Kevin volunteers at his local advanced driving group, Ayrshire Advanced Drivers, who are based at Auchincruive and coaches drivers to help improve their physical and mental driving skills. 

Since setting up KM Driver Training Kevin's been continually expanding his knowledge in the driver training industry by having his own driving & coaching skills assessed by various trainers including Strathclyde Police's own Class 1 Advanced Police Instructors and is currently studying for the Diploma in Driving Instruction which is provided by Middlesex University and is the highest academic qualification aimed specifically at Approved Driving Instructors.  Kevin was 1 of only 2 Approved Driving Instructors to start the Diploma in Driving Instruction in the whole of Scotland in 2008 and completed the course in 2010. KM Driver Training is a member has professional indemnity insurance (up to £3m) and public liability insurance (up to £5m).  He is a fully paid-up member of the Diamond MasterDriver's Club, the Driving Instructor's Association, the Institute of Advanced Motorists, the A.D.I. Federation and RoSPA.
